A company hosts its main public web application in one AWS Region across multiple Availability Zones. The application uses an Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling group and an Application Load Balancer (ALB). Creating an Amazon CloudFront distribution with the existing ALB as the origin is the most cost-optimized and effective solution for global dynamic content delivery. CloudFront, a content delivery network (CDN), caches content at edge locations closer to users, reducing latency and improving performance. For dynamic content, CloudFront forwards requests to the ALB, which then routes them to the EC2 instances. This offloads traffic from the origin, improving scalability and reducing EC2 costs. Using Route 53 for geographic routing alone doesn't cache content or reduce latency for dynamic content as effectively as a CDN. Migrating the web application to S3 is suitable for static websites, not dynamic applications. AWS Direct Connect provides a dedicated network connection but is for private connectivity to AWS, not for global public content delivery.
