This allows devices on a closed network to receive necessary security patches and feature updates without direct internet access. Many EMMs support local update repositories, enabling administrators to download updates once and distribute them internally. Not updating devices, even if offline, creates security vulnerabilities and misses critical bug fixes. Sending 5,000 devices to an OEM for updates is impractical and costly. Using AOSP versions doesn't guarantee direct OEM updates in a closed network, as updates still need a distribution mechanism.
