A suspended project has been restarted after a few months of changed conditions. What should the project lead do first?

When a project restarts after a suspension, especially with changed conditions, the project lead's first priority is to re-establish a common understanding of the current state and future work with the team. Reviewing the remaining backlog items with the project team ensures everyone is aware of what needs to be done, identifies any new dependencies or risks due to the changed conditions, and allows for re-prioritization and re-estimation. Asking the team to approve all remaining backlog items is premature; a review must happen first. Involving the program manager or sponsor for approval before the team has assessed the impact of changed conditions is also premature and less efficient.
