After a lift-and-shift, you want a no-ops, autoscaling compute platform. Which two compute products should you choose?

Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) with containers provides a managed, autoscaling Kubernetes platform, reducing operational overhead while allowing for containerized applications. App Engine Standard Environment offers a fully managed, serverless platform with automatic scaling and zero-ops management for supported runtimes, making it ideal for lift-and-shift applications that can fit its constraints. Compute Engine with containers, while allowing containers, still requires managing the underlying VMs. Compute Engine with custom instance types and Compute Engine with managed instance groups both still involve managing virtual machines, which is not a "no-ops" solution, even with auto-scaling features.
