The project manager should facilitate collaboration between the existing team and the SME to leverage the SME's expertise and potentially save delivery time. This approach integrates the valuable input without disrupting the current iteration's plan by adding a new team member mid-sprint or solely relying on an external resource. Adding the SME immediately without discussion is disruptive and doesn't follow agile principles of planned work. Asking the SME to implement all changes bypasses the team's ownership and understanding of the product. Instructing the team to ignore the suggestion misses an opportunity for improvement and goes against the agile value of responding to change.
