Cisco WLC RRM actively monitors the RF environment beyond just over-the-air metrics like signal strength and noise. A key function is detecting rogue APs and malicious SSIDs. This helps maintain wireless network security by identifying unauthorized access points that could pose a threat. Unauthorized wireless network access refers to clients connecting to the legitimate network without proper credentials, which RRM doesn't directly detect; that's handled by authentication mechanisms. Repeated authentication attempts are typically logged by authentication servers (like RADIUS) and are not a primary RRM detection focus. End-node vulnerabilities are assessed by security tools on the endpoints themselves or network vulnerability scanners, not by RRM.
