Compared to on-premises deployments, how do cloud deployments differ regarding user experience across regions?

Cloud providers have globally distributed data centers and content delivery networks (CDNs), allowing users to connect to the nearest available resource, minimizing latency and improving the user experience regardless of their geographical location. On-premises deployments, however, are limited by the physical location of their infrastructure. Users far from the data center will experience higher latency and potentially degraded performance.
