In a cloud-hosted SD-WAN controller deployment, where are policies created and where are they enforced?

In a Cisco SD-WAN deployment, policies are centrally configured and managed on vManage. The vManage controller provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for creating, modifying, and monitoring all aspects of the SD-WAN fabric, including control plane and data plane policies. Once policies are defined on vManage, they are then pushed to the vSmart controllers. The vSmart controllers are responsible for enforcing these policies by distributing them to the vEdge routers (now Cisco Catalyst 8000V Edge Software or Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms) in the overlay network. vManage does not enforce policies itself; it acts as the centralized management plane. vSmart is the control plane component that makes routing decisions and applies policies across the network.
