In an agile team, some members ask for more autonomy. How should the project manager respond?

In agile environments, self-organizing teams are empowered to make decisions about how they accomplish their work. The project manager, often serving as a servant leader or coach, should encourage this autonomy. This fosters ownership, innovation, and quicker problem-solving within the team. Encouraging the team lead to make all decisions centralizes power and goes against the agile principle of self-organization. Discouraging autonomy due to potential conflicts or because decision-making is seen as solely for management stifles team growth and reduces agility. While conflicts can arise, agile teams are expected to resolve them collaboratively.
