In policy-based routing, how is traffic that matches a route-map 'deny' clause handled?

When a deny clause in a route-map is matched for policy-based routing (PBR), the router stops processing that route-map for the current packet and reverts to its normal forwarding behavior. This means the router will then consult its routing table (RIB) to determine the best path for the packet, just as it would for any traffic not subject to PBR. The traffic is not discarded, nor does it require an additional route-map line to achieve normal forwarding. An additional permit clause would be needed if you wanted to apply a different PBR action to that traffic, but not to simply allow normal routing.
