Semrush's data collection and processing cycles mean that a backlink can be detected as new and then, in a subsequent crawl, be found to be gone, all within a relatively short timeframe. This scenario is common for backlinks that are temporary, removed by the linking site, or due to crawling anomalies. The other options are incorrect because there isn't a separate "New" status for the source page and "Lost" for the target page; the statuses apply to the backlink itself. It also doesn't necessarily indicate a mistake that needs fixing, but rather a transient state of the backlink.
