Under which condition does a Cisco StackWise primary switch lose its primary role?

A Cisco StackWise primary switch loses its primary role when it is reset or reloaded. During this event, the remaining stack members will elect a new primary based on priority, MAC address, and uptime. Adding a switch with a higher priority does not immediately trigger a new election; the current primary retains its role until a reset or reload occurs. Similarly, a stack member failure does not cause the primary to lose its role unless the primary itself is the one that failed. Changing a stack member's priority to a higher value also does not force a new election until a primary reset or reload.
