Each letter represents a specific role: D for Decision Maker, A for Accountable, R for Responsible, C for Consulted, and I for Informed. The Decision Maker is the individual who has the authority to make the final choice or approve a course of action. This clarity helps prevent ambiguity and ensures that there is a single point of authority for key decisions. "Directive" refers to an instruction, not a role. "Director" is a job title, not a role within this framework. "Directly Responsible" is redundant with the "Responsible" role and not the "D" in DARCI.
