What is Dwell Time?

Dwell time is the amount of time a user spends on a page after clicking on it from a search engine results page (SERP) and before returning to the SERP. It's a key user engagement metric that search engines like Google may use to infer content quality and relevance. A longer dwell time generally suggests that users found the content valuable and engaging. "How long it takes a webpage to load" describes page load speed, a different performance metric. "Average reading level of a written piece of content" refers to readability, which impacts user experience but isn't dwell time itself. "Another term for bounce rate" is incorrect; bounce rate is the percentage of single-page sessions, while dwell time measures the duration of a single session on a specific page.
