What is the purpose of templates?

Templates in Data Studio (now Looker Studio) provide pre-designed report layouts and structures that you can populate with your own data. This significantly speeds up the report creation process by eliminating the need to build a report from scratch. While templates often come with pre-configured data sources, their primary purpose is to offer a ready-made visual framework for your data. They do not offer design tips based on connectors or directly extract data for improved load times; those are separate functionalities or benefits.
