A fully qualified domain name (FQDN) is crucial for vBond Orchestrator redundancy. When multiple vBond orchestrators are deployed, they are typically configured with the same FQDN. This allows vEdge devices and other controllers to resolve the FQDN to multiple IP addresses (via DNS round-robin or similar mechanisms), providing automatic failover if one vBond becomes unreachable. A load-balancer with health probes could be used in front of vBonds, but the FQDN is the fundamental element enabling this redundancy at the DNS level.
