What type of roaming occurs when a client moves between different mobility groups?

Layer 3 roaming occurs when a wireless client moves between access points that belong to different IP subnets, and thus different mobility groups. This requires a Layer 3 mobility agent (like a Wireless LAN Controller or mobility anchor) to maintain the client's IP address and session, tunneling traffic between the client's original subnet and its new subnet. Layer 2 roaming, in contrast, happens when a client moves between access points within the same IP subnet and mobility group, where the client's IP address doesn't change. Layer 1 and Layer 7 are not standard classifications for wireless roaming types.
