Which characteristic applies to an SSID?

An SSID (Service Set Identifier) is a case-sensitive text string that acts as the name of a wireless local area network (WLAN). Devices use this name to identify and connect to a specific Wi-Fi network. While an SSID helps identify an access point, it's not the access point itself, but rather the network it broadcasts.
