Which NAT solution should you use to perform address translation between your on-premises network blocks and GCP?

Cloud NAT is the recommended and most scalable solution for performing address translation between your on-premises network and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It's a managed service that provides outbound NAT for instances without external IP addresses, allowing them to initiate connections to the internet or on-premises networks through Cloud VPN or Cloud Interconnect. While an instance with IP forwarding enabled, or instances configured with iptables DNAT/SNAT rules, could theoretically perform NAT, these are manual, unmanaged, and less scalable solutions. They introduce single points of failure, require significant configuration and maintenance, and do not offer the high availability and automatic scaling benefits of Cloud NAT. Cloud NAT simplifies network architecture and reduces operational overhead.
