Which technology improves web traffic performance by proxy caching?

The Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) is a dedicated proxy solution that improves web traffic performance through caching frequently accessed web content. When users request a web page, the WSA checks its local cache first. If the content is present and fresh, it serves it directly, reducing latency and bandwidth usage. If not, it fetches the content from the web server, stores a copy, and then delivers it to the user. Firepower is a next-generation firewall with intrusion prevention capabilities, primarily focused on security, not web caching for performance. ASA (Adaptive Security Appliance) is a traditional firewall and VPN concentrator, also security-focused. FireSIGHT is the management console for Firepower devices, not a caching technology itself.
