Which type of Azure data transfer is generally free?

Ingress data transfer, which is data moving into Azure data centers, is generally free of charge. This encourages users to bring their data into Azure without incurring initial costs. Egress (outbound) data transfer, which is data moving out of Azure data centers, typically incurs charges, as Azure charges for the bandwidth consumed when data leaves its network. Inter-region transfer refers to data moving between different Azure regions, which is a form of egress from one region and ingress to another, and usually incurs charges for the egress portion. Outbound to VPN is also a form of egress and would incur charges based on the data transferred out of Azure.
