For disaster recovery backups, Google recommends Coldline Storage. This class is designed for data accessed less than once a month, offering a good balance between low storage cost and reasonable access times (milliseconds). While Nearline Storage is also for infrequent access, its higher cost per operation makes Coldline more suitable for backups where retrieval is less common. Multi-Regional and Regional Storage are for frequently accessed data, making them too expensive for disaster recovery backups.
