Your organization has offices in North America and Europe and is migrating to Azure. Requirements: mobile users' point-to-site VPN connections must automatically connect to the nearest Azure region; each region's offices must connect to their local Azure region via ExpressRoute; transitive routing between virtual networks and on-premises networks must be supported; and traffic between virtual networks must be filterable by FQDN. Which networking solution should you recommend?

Azure Virtual WAN with a secured virtual hub is the correct solution because it directly addresses all requirements. Virtual WAN provides a global, meshed network that automatically connects point-to-site VPN users to the nearest Azure region and integrates ExpressRoute connections from each office to its local Azure region. The secured virtual hub, powered by Azure Firewall, enables FQDN-based filtering for traffic between virtual networks. Virtual WAN inherently supports transitive routing between connected virtual networks and on-premises networks. Virtual network peering and application security groups (ASGs) do not provide a global network for automatic VPN routing, nor do they natively support transitive routing across multiple peered networks or FQDN filtering. Virtual network gateways and network security groups (NSGs) can handle VPN and ExpressRoute connections but lack the global meshed architecture, automatic nearest-region VPN routing, and built-in transitive routing capabilities of Virtual WAN, and NSGs don't offer FQDN filtering. Azure Route Server and Azure Network Function Manager are components for advanced routing and network function deployment, respectively, but do not form a complete solution for all the specified global connectivity, security, and automatic routing requirements.
